As City Manager, he will oversee the City’s seven departments and 134 full-time employees, guiding day-to-day operations and advancing Gautier’s long-term vision for growth, stability, and quality services.

They also extended their gratitude to Interim City Manager Chassity Bilbo, who has served since October and ensured continuity during the transition.

Amtrack Safety

Railroad Safety Reminder

With the new Amtrak Gulf Coast passenger service now passing through Gautier’s rail corridor, we all play a role in keeping our community safe.

One of the most important safety tools at every railroad crossing is the blue and white Emergency Notification System (ENS) sign. This sign provides an emergency phone number and location details so you can quickly report a problem and even stop train traffic if needed.

What to Do If You’re Stuck on or Near the Tracks

If you ever find yourself in a dangerous situation at a railroad crossing, follow these steps:

  • If the crossing gates come down while you’re on the tracks, drive through the gates. They are designed to break away.

  • If your vehicle becomes stuck, exit immediately and move to a safe distance from the tracks.

  • Locate the blue ENS sign posted at the crossing.

  • Call the emergency number listed on the sign.

  • Provide the dispatcher with the crossing and location numbers printed on the sign.

  • Remain in a safe location away from the tracks until emergency personnel arrive.

Railroad safety is public safety. By understanding how to use ENS signs, every member of our community is empowered to help stop trains in an emergency and protect lives.

For more information on ENS signs and rail safety, visit Amtrak’s safety page.
