Graveline Road Bridge Project Nears Completion
The Graveline Road Bridge Project is entering its final stretch, with completion expected in mid to late November, according to an update from the Jackson County Road Manager to Mayor Casey Vaughan. While unforeseen paving issues caused minor delays, crews are making steady progress toward reopening the bridge soon.
The City of Gautier appreciates residents’ continued patience and understanding as this vital infrastructure project is finalized. The previous bridge had failed inspection, meaning it had to be replaced or face closure until funding could be secured. Fortunately, through a strong partnership with the Jackson County Board of Supervisors, funding was secured early—allowing the project to move forward before a mandatory closure from MDOT.
Once complete, the new bridge will significantly improve public safety and storm resilience, ensuring residents can safely evacuate during severe weather events and avoid isolation caused by flooded roads or bridges.
The City of Gautier extends its sincere thanks to the Jackson County Board of Supervisors and everyone involved in bringing this important project to life for our community.
