Community Event: 25th Annual Veterans' Breakfast at GHS
All veterans and their guests are invited to attend the 25th Annual Veterans' Breakfast on Thursday, November 7, 2024, at Gautier High School. The event kicks off at 8:00 a.m. with a free full Southern breakfast, featuring eggs, grits, bacon, biscuits, scones, fruit, and coffee. Following breakfast, veterans will be honored at 8:45 a.m. with a patriotic assembly and a salute from the student body.
The event will take place in the GHS gym, located at 4307 Gautier Vancleave Rd. Veterans can enter through the main entrance and will be escorted to the gym, with golf carts available for assistance. No RSVP is required.
Originally started in November 2000 by a former GHS history teacher, the Veterans' Breakfast has grown from 40 attendees to over 400. Veterans, including WWII survivors and GHS alumni, have been honored at this special event.
The 25th Annual Breakfast will feature Congressman Mike Ezell as the guest speaker and a representative from the nonprofit Tunnels to Towers, which provides mortgage-free homes for families of fallen first responders and veterans.
Generous support from local businesses and individuals help make this event possible.
