The A-rated Pascagoula-Gautier School District has locally funded pre-kindergarten classes and a pre-K launchpad for childcare facilities.

PGSD boasts some of the highest teacher salaries in the state, small class sizes, state-of-the-art facilities, award-winning fine arts and performing arts programs, virtual reality technology, robotics programs, a Family Interactive Center, and a full slate of AP, dual credit, and dual enrollment classes.

Gautier High School is a No Child Left Behind National Blue Ribbon High School, with one of the highest graduation rates in the state and more than $10 million in scholarships annually.

GHS is consistently ranked among the best high schools in America.

Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, which is consistently ranked as one of the biggest, fastest-growing, and top community colleges in the nation, has its Jackson County home in the City of Gautier.

In 2021,CityStatistics.com gives Gautier a B+ rating for safety.  While total crime in Gautier is higher than the national average, violent crime and property crime remain lower than the national average. Specifically, violent crimes that include murder, manslaughter, aggravated assault, and rape remain lower than the national and state averages. Gautier remains a thriving community with a lot to offer its residents, and our police force tirelessly works to ensure the safety of our citizens.
