Planning & Economic Development
The Planning and Economic Department is comprised of the Planning/Administration Division, Building and Zoning Division, Neighborhood Services Division, and Cultural Services Division. The department is managed under the general supervision of the City’s Planning and Economic Development Director.

The Planning/Admininistration Division is responsible for current and long-range planning for the City, as well as the day-to-day administrative operations for the entire department. The division’s planning includes the administration of the 2030 Comprehensive Plan, all special studies, neighborhood plans, and the ordinances of the City’s Unified Development Ordinance.
