GIS Mapping
Michael Atkinson manages Gautier’s Geographical Information Systems (GIS) Division as the GIS Analyst. Michael provides a variety of GIS to city departments, governmental agencies, developers, and citizens.
GIS is a system designed to capture, store, manipulate, analyze, manage and present all types of geographically referenced data. In the simplest terms, GIS is the merging of cartography, statistical analysis and database technology. GIS may be used in urban planning, archeology, geography, land surveying, natural resource management, emergency management.
