ROAD CLOSURE

Reference: Dolphin Rd and William Payne Blvd Intersection, Gautier, MS

Lane Construction Co of MS, Inc. will be closing Dolphin Rd at the intersection of William Payne Blvd on Monday, May 14^th until further notice. This intersection will be closed in order to
install storm drains and a fountain. Please make arrangements to use alternate routes when dealing with travel in this area.

2012 Art Contest

Gautier Music and Mullet Fest – Calling All Artists!!!

Here is your opportunity to win some money and have your work on display for thousands of people. The Gautier Mullet & Music Fest Committee is now accepting submissions for the Gautier Mullet & Music Fest annual art contest.

Contest Guidelines

1. Your entry must have the correct name and spelling of the festival or it will not be accepted for judging

2. Must include the name, year and theme of this year’s festival in any size or orientation, located anywhere on the art at your discretion

a. Name: Gautier Mullet & Music Fest

b. Year: 2012

c. Theme: Celebrating Gautier as Nature’s
Playground

3. May include “22nd Annual” (artist’s discretion)

4. Most important artistic element of the poster: Must encompass a fun festival feeling

5. Must have a mullet somewhere as a focal point of artwork

6. Any Art professional media may be used

7. Should be approximately 16”x 20”and can be landscape or portrait orientation

8. Include a signed release and entry form (page 3 of this document)

9. All artists will need to be available to attend a breakfast where the winner will be announced (family or guests are welcome)

10. The winner will need to be on hand the first day of the festival, October 20th at 11 am to accept your prize.

Boil Water Advisory / Notice

Due to loss of water pressure during a fire hydrant repair, the following streets are placed under a Boil Water Notice:

Park Drive

Water’s Edge

Old Field Drive

Sea Cliffe Drive, South of Park Drive

As a precaution, we advise that all water used for drinking,
cooking, making ice, brushing teeth, or washing dishes be boiled. A rolling
boil of one minute is sufficient.

This “Precautionary Boil Water Notice” will remain in effect until
the problem has been corrected and bacteriological survey shows that the water
is safe to drink.

If you have any questions, you may contact Public Works Department,

Hazard Mitigation Plan Update

The City of Gautier and Jackson County is in the process of updating their 2005 Hazard Mitigation Plan. The plan will identify specific projects and actions that will help mitigate the effects of future hazards. Upon final approval by the Mississippi Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) and Federal Emergency Management Administration (FEMA), the plan will be presented to the City Council for adoption. Once the plan is adopted, the City is eligible to apply for OEM and FEMA grants for funding hazard mitigation projects.

Public input is important to the successful completion of the plan. A Public Meeting for Input on the Hazard Mitigation Plan Update will be held on Monday, April 30, 2012 from
5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the Kathleen McIlwain Public Library located at 2100 Library Lane, Gautier MS. You may also complete an online questionnaire at https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/NSI-HMPS.

Reference: Gautier-Vancleave Rd and Highway 90 Intersection
Gautier, MS

Lane Construction Co of MS, Inc. will be closing Gautier-Vancleave Rd approximately 200 feet north of the Highway 90 intersection from 9:00 am until 2:00 pm, Thursday, April 26th to pave the previously installed pipe crossing. A detour will be in place to direct traffic to Dolphin Rd. Please make arrangements to use alternate routes when dealing with travel in this area.
