The Cultural Services Department is responsible for all of the City Parks & Recreation Facilities including, but limited to the following:

  • George Martin City Park

Playground

Boat launch

Fishing pier

  • Shepard State Park (400 acres nestled inside the city limits)

RV & Camping sites

Boat launch

Hiking trails

Archery Range (to be completed summer 2015)

Mountain Bike Trails

18 hole Disc Golf course

Picnic Sites / Pavilions

  • Bob Hayes Park

Playground with swings, rock climbing, etc

  • Bacot Park

Home to the Boys & Girls club

We are currently revamping our entire Parks & Recreation Department and are working diligently to play our part in community development, beautification & improvements for our citizens and youth. We also assist in the coordination of City sponsored Youth Athletic Programs (baseball, football, etc) and strongly encourage community involvement.
